INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN DIVISION
ON VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS EXEMPLARY
ADVOCATE AWARD The
Council for Exception al Children Division on Visual Impairments is proud to
present the Exemplary Advocate Award to Dr. Mimi Berman and Mr. Marvin
Sandler, from Independent Living Aids, Inc.
The Exemplary Advocate Award honors a person who has done
something of significance to promote the quality of life for people who are
blind and visually impaired. Independent Living Aids, Inc. received this prestigious award for the
continued support of teachers and other professionals in the field of blindness
over the past years. Independent
Living Aids, Inc. has provided Braille key boards, Braille instruction manuals
for PCs and supported publications of the Division On visual Impairment.
The ILA has also supported many new professionals with DVI membership to
assure that professional growth is begun the very first year of teaching.
Dr.
Mimi Berman and Mr. Marvin Sandler are leaders and advocates.
They are considered an authority on products for the blind and visually
impaired and share their expertise within the profession.
