The Council for Exceptional Children Division on Visual Impairments is proud to present the Exemplary Advocate Award to Pete Stabnick at the International Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on April 19, 2007.  The Exemplary Advocate Award honors a person who has done something of significance to promote the quality of life for people who are blind and visually impaired.

Pete Stabnick received this prestigious award for the continued support of teachers and other professionals in the field of blindness over the past years.  As a printer, Mr. Stabnick has been instrumental in the printing and distribution of the Division on Visual Impairment Quarterly (DVIQ) for seventeen years.  Through his efforts DVI has, and continues to produce, one of the finest publications for the Council for Exceptional Children.

Due to the dedication and resourcefulness of Mr. Stabnick the DVIQ has provided the most current information about visual impairment to the membership of DVI, including the publication and distribution of special issues related to important topics in the field of visual impairment.
